B2B outbound case studies: 19 results by industry

Updated

Smirnov Consulting Group is a Prague-based B2B outbound lead generation agency that runs cold email and LinkedIn campaigns for founder-led B2B companies and books qualified sales calls.

12 years in outbound, hundreds of B2B companies, 24 countries.

Here are 19 campaigns, grouped by the client's industry. Find yours, then open the case page for the setup and the full numbers. Every headline gives the company type, the number and the period, plus the country wherever it has been published. Clients are anonymous by default, so you see what they sell and where, not their name.

How to read these numbers

Every number is the one the campaign reported. We do not add two clients together, and we do not round up.

Booked calls, calls that actually happened and signed contracts are different figures. Where a case has all three, the case page shows all three. Booking the call is our job. Closing it is mostly your sales team's job, so the contract numbers below belong to our clients' teams as much as to us.

Compare by deal size before you compare by industry. The US marketing agency below needed 277 calls for 34 contracts at $7,500 each. The German IT company further down needed 34 booked calls for 5 contracts at about EUR 250,000 each. A bigger ticket needs fewer calls.

Big numbers need two things underneath them: an offer the market already buys, and a team that can take the calls and deliver the work.

B2B companies, industry not disclosed

For these clients the industry was never published, so they are listed by what the campaign did. The mechanics are still worth reading.

UK B2B company: 8 deals worth $560,000 in 2 months

A UK B2B company targeting the UK and US markets got 144 leads and 59 booked calls in 2 months. It closed 8 deals at an average of $70,000, $560,000 in total.

US B2B company: 141 booked sales calls in 60 days

A US B2B company that had already hired 3 agencies got 335 interested leads in 60 days. It booked 141 sales calls after we emailed more than 70,000 people.

B2B client, one LinkedIn account: 3 deals closed in 30 days

One LinkedIn account with email follow-ups contacted 1,200 people in 30 days and got 289 replies. 16 booked a call, 12 showed up and 3 deals closed.

Foundations first, volume last

The industries differ, but the order of work barely changes. First the foundations: the profiles, the entry offer and the case studies a buyer sees when they look you up. Then a verified list. Then the channels, usually LinkedIn with warm email follow-ups (emails sent after the first LinkedIn touch), with cold email added where the market needs more reach. More volume comes last.

The fastest cases on this page moved fast because demand was already there and the client's sales team could close. The slower ones ramped month by month. If your offer is not selling yet, none of these numbers will transfer to you, and we will tell you that on the first call.
