US business consulting and coaching firm: 204 sales calls in 4 months

Updated

A business consulting and coaching firm in the United States booked 204 sales calls in 4 months with Smirnov Consulting Group. Calls rose from 27 in the first month to 64 in the third. The work ran on LinkedIn: outreach from the founder's profile plus regular LinkedIn content, aimed at one niche.

Good consultants, too few of the right conversations

The firm had trouble attracting its ideal clients. When leads did come in, too few turned into real conversations about the work. The firm needed a steady way to book sales calls with the right prospects, so it could grow the practice.

The founder's profile was the first thing we rebuilt

In a consulting or coaching firm, the buyer is buying the founder's judgment. So the founder's LinkedIn profile is where every prospect goes after the first message. We started there.

The work, in order:

  1. Fully optimised the founder's LinkedIn profile, so it explained the problem the firm solves and showed proof of solving it.
  2. Chose 1 niche and kept the whole campaign on it.
  3. Built the list with Sales Navigator.
  4. Ran LinkedIn outreach in 2 to 3 scenarios.
  5. Posted LinkedIn content alongside the outreach, so the profile stayed active and gave prospects a reason to trust the person they were about to talk to.

38 of 98 connection requests accepted

A snapshot from the campaign shows how the market responded to the rebuilt profile:

That snapshot is a small sample from one stretch of the campaign, and we show it as that. A separate chart tracked daily campaign activity through August and September.

Calls more than doubled between month 1 and month 3

The biggest jump came between month 2 and month 3, from 35 to 64. One niche and one founder profile meant every reply taught us something about the same buyer, and that learning stacks up.

Coaches and consultants need a profile worth checking

This result leaned on the profile as much as on the messages. A prospect who gets a message from a coach does not decide from the message. They open the profile, read the headline, and look at the last few posts. If the profile lists job history and the last post is from last year, the call does not get booked.

It works for a consultant or coach who sells to companies, has one clear buyer, and has an offer already selling at a price they are happy with. Someone senior also has to be free to run the calls. 204 calls in 4 months means around 50 a month on average.

If your offer changes every few weeks, fix that first. A single niche and a clear profile kept this campaign simple to scale.
