US B2B company: 141 booked sales calls in 60 days

A B2B company in the US booked 141 sales calls in 60 days with us, from 335 interested leads. We emailed more than 70,000 people over those 60 days. The company had already hired 3 agencies before us, and the founder was about to give up on outbound.

Three agencies had already failed

The client came to us done with outbound. Three agencies had overpromised and under-delivered. The conclusion inside the company was that cold email does not work in their niche.

The founder wanted to move the budget into ads instead. Those ads were not returning a positive ROI either. The company's industry is not disclosed.

We rebuilt it from the bottom, in five steps

  1. Foundations. We clarified the offer, the positioning and the ideal client profile. The messaging went from "we do everything for everyone" to one clear promise to one clear type of buyer.
  2. What prospects check. We cleaned up the website home page, tightened the copy, and optimized the LinkedIn profiles of the founder and the sales team so they matched the value the company delivers.
  3. Lists. We researched and built custom lists of decision-makers who matched the ideal client profile. No random scraped data.
  4. The outbound funnel. New angles, new subject lines, new follow-ups. Short emails written like a person wrote them, with a job for every step of the sequence.
  5. Volume. We set up proper sending infrastructure and only then scaled.

Nobody touched a list until steps 1 and 2 were done.

As on all our campaigns, every address was verified before it was used, and bounce rates stayed low. On our campaigns the target is a bounce rate below 0.5%, because bounces are how a sending domain gets flagged.

335 interested leads and 141 calls for a company ready to quit

The result was 335 interested leads and 141 sales calls booked in 60 days, in the same niche where cold email had supposedly failed three times.

The niche was fine. None of the three agencies had fixed the offer, the message, the picture of the buyer, the website or the profiles. All three had started at the same place: sending.

What this means if you have been burned before

"We already tried three agencies" is not a reason to walk away from outbound. Ask what those agencies fixed before they sent anything. If the answer is nothing, the channel was never tested properly.

You may not need 141 calls in 60 days. That is a big number, and most companies cannot staff it. If you want 5 to 10 good clients a month, the process is the same with a smaller list.

This is not for companies starting from zero. It works when you already sell something people buy and you can take the calls it produces.
