Data Axle pricing depends on which product you buy, because each product line publishes its price differently. Data Axle Salesgenie, the prospecting app, starts at $99 per month at the time of writing, on a 12-month commitment (Salesgenie pricing FAQ).
The Data Axle API charges $50 per 1,000 business records on its Standard plan and $75 on Enhanced, and consumer records start at $25. Above 100,000 records a month, you contact sales (Data Axle APIs).
Data Axle Credit Solutions sells business credit reports from $17.95 each, and those are not prospect lists. Larger contracts have no list price, and the only public range rests on a handful of deals.
My team runs outreach through cold email and LinkedIn, with phones only as an optional warm call to someone who already replied, engaged or opted in. None of the prices below come from my own campaigns. Each one comes from Data Axle's own pages or a named, dated third party; the arithmetic and the cold email judgment are mine.
Which Data Axle product does each price belong to?
All prices in this section are at the time of writing.
| Product | What it is | Published price | Unit | Source | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Salesgenie | Self-serve prospecting app | From $99 | Per month, 12-month term | Salesgenie pricing FAQ | Starting price published, package quoted |
| Business API, Standard | Business records by API | $50 | Per 1,000 records, 3,001-100,000 a month | Data Axle APIs page | Published |
| Business API, Enhanced | Higher tier of the same business records plan | $75 | Per 1,000 records, same band | Data Axle APIs page | Published |
| API add-ons | Optional add-ons, priced separately | From $30 | Per 1,000 records | Data Axle APIs page | Floor only |
| Business API over 100,000 a month | High-volume access | None | Per deal | Data Axle APIs page | Quote only |
| Consumer API, Standard / Enhanced | Consumer records by API | $25 / $50 | Per 1,000 records, 3,001-100,000 a month | Data Axle APIs page | Published |
| Credit Solutions report | One business credit report | $17.95 | Per report | Credit Solutions plans | Published |
| Credit Solutions plan | Monthly Credit Solutions plan | $195 billed monthly, $179 billed annually | Per month | Credit Solutions plans | Published |
| Intelliscore Plus add-on | Add-on to a credit report | $8.95 | Per report | Credit Solutions plans | Published |
| Verified Seal | Seal for your own company's profile | $149 | Per year | Credit Solutions plans | Published |
| Larger data contracts | Custom deals | None | Per deal | Vendr range, below | Not public |
The row easiest to misread is Credit Solutions. It has the clearest monthly price, so it is easy to take for a list subscription. It buys credit checks on companies, not prospects to contact. If you do want it, annual billing totals $2,148 in year one, against $2,340 on monthly billing (my arithmetic).
For Salesgenie, $99 is only the entry point. The quote depends on package, users, credits and databases, and a Database Consultant builds it. Get it in writing before you compare.
What does the Data Axle API cost for 1,000 or 10,000 records?
Add-ons start at $30 per 1,000, and the page does not price each one, so the last two columns use that floor.
| Records | Standard | Enhanced | Standard + add-on | Enhanced + add-on |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 (unit rate) | $50 | $75 | $80 | $105 |
| 10,000 | $500 | $750 | $800 | $1,050 |
| 100,000 | $5,000 | $7,500 | $8,000 | $10,500 |
Published pricing covers 3,001 or more monthly records, with no figure for smaller pulls.
The billing basis is also undefined. The page says pay-as-you-go by records requested, but not whether you pay for records returned or matched, or whether an add-on still bills when the extra field comes back empty. Ask both before you budget.
What will a Salesgenie contract lock you into?
The first term is 12 months. After it, the plan rolls over month to month at the rate in force then, billed on your sign-up date. At the $99 entry price, year one comes to $1,188 or more.
You can cancel when the opening 12 months end, or in any month after. You need to give 30 days' notice or more, by phoning a Database Consultant (Salesgenie cancellation help).
Set a calendar reminder 45 days before your first 12-month term ends. That leaves you two weeks to decide while you can still give notice.
What do enterprise Data Axle deals cost?
Vendr files Data Axle under its old name, Infogroup. At the time of writing it reports a $3,200 minimum, a $150,000 maximum and a $45,636 average contract value (Vendr).
Look at the sample before you use those numbers. Vendr says the sample covers over 5 finished deals and just 3 buyers. Treat it as an anecdote: it shows that large deals exist and cannot predict your quote.
What do buyers say in Data Axle reviews?
G2's AI summary of Salesgenie (a May 2026 analysis) shows 4.3 out of 5 from 360 reviews. It lists the pricing as custom, which conflicts with the published $99 entry price, and names a high monthly service fee as the main complaint, with no figure attached. Settle the money question from the contract. Use the reviews to decide what to push on in the demo.
Is a rented Data Axle list good enough for cold email?
Whenever a cold campaign goes quiet, I ask to see the list before I ask to see the emails, because no sentence rescues a list of the wrong people. Here is how I take a lead list apart before writing copy.
Two rules decide whether any rented list works for outreach. I verify every address before anything goes out. I also hold bounces under 0.5%, because a sending domain that keeps bouncing loses its inbox placement.
That bar sits well inside what the inbox providers ask. Clearout's 2026 email data quality benchmark notes that Gmail and Yahoo expect senders to keep hard bounce rates below 2%. A bought list carries a second risk. Mailtrap says bought email lists usually contain spam traps.
I trust a list built and cross-checked from several data sources over a single scraped pull. A cheap list bought from freelancers tends to come back with low open rates and high bounces. A Data Axle export gets no free pass. It goes through the same verification as any other list.
The law follows the sender. The FTC says in its CAN-SPAM compliance guide that the law applies to business-to-business email too. Penalties reach $53,088 per violating email, and you must process opt-outs within 10 business days. Hiring someone else to send does not remove your liability. This is not legal advice.
| Your situation | Decision | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You need company facts (industry, size, location) or territory counts, and email is a minor part of the plan | Buy | The API publishes unit prices, so you can budget it once the billing basis is confirmed |
| You want person-level emails for cold outreach and will verify every address | Test a small slice | Pull the smallest published band, verify it, and measure the pass rate before scaling |
| You plan to send straight from the export, or you would sign the 12-month Salesgenie term before checking sample records | Skip | Unverified sends threaten the bounce ceiling, and the term outlasts the test |
For the wider buy-or-build question, see whether buying an email list is worth it. If you are still choosing between database types, how prospecting databases compare covers that.
What should you compare Data Axle against before you sign?
Divide what you pay by the contacts that pass verification, not by the contacts delivered. Suppose 10,000 business records cost $800 at the Standard plus add-on floor, and 6,000 of them pass verification. That is about $0.13 per usable contact, against the $0.08 the invoice suggests.
The 6,000 is an illustration, so measure your own pass rate on the test slice. That matters because, in my campaigns, 30-35 booked calls a month need at least 10,000 people contacted, so each record lost to verification shrinks the pool you start from.
When my team runs outbound for a client, the client pays the data vendor directly, and that bill sits apart from our monthly fee.
Then put that figure next to the per-contact prices for other data tools. Ask Data Axle when each record was last verified, because B2B data goes stale fast. A low unit price on old records still buys bounces. So bring two numbers to the Data Axle call: your cost per verified contact from the test slice, and the date your notice window opens.
Holding a Data Axle quote with a per-record price you cannot compare? Book a call and send it over. I will tell you which lines I would question.
Questions buyers ask about Data Axle
How do you check whether a data seller is a registered data broker?
Data brokers in California register with CalPrivacy each year between January 1 and 31. Download the full registry as a CSV from the California Data Broker Registry and search it for any data seller before you sign.
Can you email UK business contacts from a Data Axle list?
The ICO says the PECR email rule leaves corporate subscribers out. Sole traders and some partnerships still need consent or the soft opt-in (an existing customer relationship). A bought list must also meet UK GDPR, which means a lawful basis and informing each person how you obtained their details. The guidance is marked as under review.
Does Salesgenie refund records that turn out to be bad?
The Salesgenie pricing FAQ promises a refund for the undeliverable, out-of-date or disconnected portion of your list. Ask how claims are filed and the deadline, and get it in writing, especially if you verify only after export.
Can you try Salesgenie before paying?
Salesgenie's FAQ says you can explore it without a credit card, but it gives no trial length or record limit, so ask for both. Use it to look up 20 companies you already know and check the titles and emails against reality.
